How do we KNOW what we know? Making good use of mind, heart & gut intelligence - May 16, 2026 - 10am-12pm
Neuroscience has shown us that we don't just have one brain in our head - we have three brains! If we rely only on the cognitive intelligence of our head, we underutilize the intelligence of the heart and the gut to maximize our ability to navigate our lives. Studies show that gut intelligence guides us in core self-identity, intuition and mobilization for safety. Studies also show that anchoring in the heart not only improves sleep, mood and overall health, it also helps us access deeper self-knowledge, regulate our nervous systems and tune into the wisdom of whole-body awareness. In this workshop, you will learn about the three brains and their specific intelligence, as well as how to use that information to bring all three systems into coherence to enhance your daily life.
This 2-hour Zoom workshop will present information about how and why the heart and gut are so important, beyond their physiological functions. Experiential exercises will focus on the importance of your awareness and will help you differentiate when you are listening to the mind, the heart and the gut, and how to get them in sync. You will leave this workshop with coherence-focused practices that have been shown to increase one's capacity to become more regulated and guided by the mind, heart and gut, which you can take into your own life as you grow your own inner compass. These two workshop hours are private, sacred time with yourself. You will not be asked to share your experience with the group during the workshop period. However, I will keep the group open for an additional hour (optional) to answer questions and respond to any experiences you would like to share. I encourage you to join this part of the workshop, as you will have an opportunity for support, belong to a learning community and learn from others.
You will need paper or a journal, and a favorite pen or pencil. You will also need internet access and a device with the Zoom application to log into the workshop. You may wish to wear comfortable clothes and have water or tea, or whatever supports you nearby.
